Equipment

  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl
  • 1 9x13 Pan

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Frozen Hashbrowns
  • 2 Cups Sour Cream
  • 2 Cans Cream of Chicken
  • 2 Cups Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Stick Soften Butter
  • 2 Cups Corn Flake cereal

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture

  • In a large mixing bowl open and dump one bag frozen hashbrowns
  • Add sour cream, cream of chicken, cheddar cheese
  • Add salt, pepper and garlic powder
  • Fold together and create a blend of cheese and potatoes

Prep the Dish

  • Grease a 9x13 pan with spray or butter (I prefer butter to add more flavor to the mixture)
  • Spread potato mixture evenly into pan
  • Press potato mixture down to flatten top of surface

Prep the crust

  • In a small bowl melt 1/2 stick butter
  • Mix cornflakes with melted butter to coat the cereal
  • Spread on top of the potato mixture in the 9x13 pan

Bake the cheesy potato mixture

  • Place into a preheated 400F oven
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbling
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes
  • Scoop out a serving and enjoy on a plate as a side with your favorite meal.
